Renting in the Inner West: how our leasing process works
From inspection to keys, here is exactly what to expect when you apply for an Aldergate rental, including how long each step takes.
Rental applications are stressful because the process is opaque. Ours is not: the steps below are the same for every property we lease.
Inspections
Every rental has scheduled open inspections listed on its page. Register online and you will receive a reminder and any change of time. Private inspections are available for properties that have been listed for more than a week.
Applying
Applications are submitted online after you have inspected. We ask for identification, proof of income and two references. Applications are considered in the order they are complete, not the order they arrive.
Decisions
The owner is presented with all complete applications within two business days of the inspection, and you will hear from us either way within three. If you are unsuccessful we will tell you, and we will tell you what else we have coming.
Before you move in
- A lease sent for electronic signing
- Bond lodged with the state bond authority
- A condition report with photographs for you to review
- Keys and an induction to the property
